Lost and Found: Part 2

The day after Memorial Day we packed up and headed to the beach! 10 hours (and one speeding ticket later) we arrived at our hotel.

(I guess I shouldn't have let Reid drive after all :-)
It was not the best day. Luckily, the trip got much better after that. The next day we had breakfast and headed to the beach! We slathered the sunscreen on and played in the ocean.

Here’s Evan and Grandma T. heading back. Lorelai and Reid spent the majority of the time under the umbrella playing in the sand.

Lorelai practiced surfing, but didn’t feel the need to actually play in the water.

The next day we went to the Outlet mall and shopped ‘till we dropped. The kids favorite was KB Toy Store and I loved Harry & Davids (there Moose Crunch is the best!). Then we packed up and drove back home. The return trip took about 5 hours (this is how long it is SUPPOSED to take).

Oh, yeah… I forgot to mention one of the great parts of the trip! We had dinner at Lambert’s CafĂ© (if you haven’t heard of it go to www.throwedrolls.com) We had so much fun and I have never been more stuffed in my life. The drinks are huge (any man would be very content.)

Everything was great, with the exception of an ill fated potty trip. When we returned to our table all our food was gone and they were seating someone at our table. It turns out that one of the bus boys got a little overzealous and cleared our table even though we had only taken a few bites of food. They reseated us in a new section and we got our food ordered FAST. Also, they tossed us some more rolls as soon as we sat down again and anyone who really knows me knows that I am easily appeased if there are rolls involved.

Other than that little glitch, it was really fun. The kids had fun toys to play on while we waited to be seated and the atmosphere was really entertaining.

I'm so glad you found your camera. It would have been awful to lose those precious pictures.
Don't you just love the beach! I think that is probably the only thing that Ranleigh really misses about not living by Gulf Shores anymore.

i'm sure you loved the sand but i have a feeling those outlets had something to do with it too :)
