Financially Responsible
After reading this article I feel a little guilty and a lot more resolve. Ironically, I was checking on flights to Utah the same time I was reading this article. We are missing our family and friends and I thought it would be so nice to go to the family reunions this year. Unfortunately, we aren't prepared to buy the tickets with cash so we decided not to do buy them. We are sad for now, but happy for the future. I guess it's time to hop off my soapbox now. Wish us luck!

Where is the time going?

9 months old
I am a couple days late, but happy nine-month birthday Reid! Today Reid said his first word. Eric got him to say it at 6:30 this morning. I was not thrilled with the hour, but I was tickled to hear my little guy say "Da, Da". Eric was very happy and I am excited and sad to see another milestone come and go. Reid isn't walking on his own yet, but he "walks" along just fine as long as there is a lot of furniture around.

A Very Merry UnBirthday!
see how many things he could put on the top.
This is Lana (the little girl that I watch). I think all children
have a natural instinct when it comes to decorating cakes :)
Lost and Found: Part 2
The day after Memorial Day we packed up and headed to the beach! 10 hours (and one speeding ticket later) we arrived at our hotel.
(I guess I shouldn't have let Reid drive after all :-)
It was not the best day. Luckily, the trip got much better after that. The next day we had breakfast and headed to the beach! We slathered the sunscreen on and played in the ocean.
Here’s Evan and Grandma T. heading back. Lorelai and Reid spent the majority of the time under the umbrella playing in the sand.
Lorelai practiced surfing, but didn’t feel the need to actually play in the water.
The next day we went to the Outlet mall and shopped ‘till we dropped. The kids favorite was KB Toy Store and I loved Harry & Davids (there Moose Crunch is the best!). Then we packed up and drove back home. The return trip took about 5 hours (this is how long it is SUPPOSED to take).
Oh, yeah… I forgot to mention one of the great parts of the trip! We had dinner at Lambert’s CafĂ© (if you haven’t heard of it go to www.throwedrolls.com) We had so much fun and I have never been more stuffed in my life. The drinks are huge (any man would be very content.)
Everything was great, with the exception of an ill fated potty trip. When we returned to our table all our food was gone and they were seating someone at our table. It turns out that one of the bus boys got a little overzealous and cleared our table even though we had only taken a few bites of food. They reseated us in a new section and we got our food ordered FAST. Also, they tossed us some more rolls as soon as we sat down again and anyone who really knows me knows that I am easily appeased if there are rolls involved.
Other than that little glitch, it was really fun. The kids had fun toys to play on while we waited to be seated and the atmosphere was really entertaining.

Lost and Found
So here is the update:
My mom arrived the Monday after we got home from the beach. I picked her up at the airport, got home, Lana's mom came within 5 minutes of us getting home, then 15 minutes later I left to go to a celebratory dinner for Dr. Kyle and Dr. Todd, who had just graduated from optometry school, and left my mom home alone with the kids. Yay for Grandma's! Luckily, things calmed down for the rest of the week and Grandma Tucker got a chance to catch her breath.
This is Reid's first Merry-go-round ride. Wee!
We went to our neighbors pond and Evan spent the majority of his time at the end of the dock with his "friend" the fisherman.
Below is a little video of the kids swinging. I don't know why, but I love to see them swing.
We had some friends over for Memorial Day and thanks to Grandpa Olsen we had some juicy steaks to throw on the grill. Evan has been asking to have a pinata party for about a month so we just figured now was as good a time as any!

Anyway, we took the camera swimming and now it is lost. I don't think anyone tossed it in the pool, but I can't find it anywhere! So I will be doing some serious cleaning (while trying to play with 4 kids) and as soon as I find my camera there will be some major blogging! We hope all is right in your world and send our love to one and all...
